FAQ

How do I contact the host?

Contact us as vancouvercontact@gmail.com

Does the festival include food or lodging?

No the festival does not included food and lodging. Folks are encouraged to bring their own food to SFU and eat in the little lunch rooms provided or outside in the courtyard. There are lots of great restaurants around the area with cheap to very fancy food available. International Village mall is around the corner and has many wonderful foods including a food court that has Vietnamese food and of course sushi.
There are lots of Airbnb’s around the city that vary in price from $80 - $250 a night. There are also a couple of hostels(St Clair) in the downtown core which are relatively cheap. There is a couchsurfing community for women called Nomad sister.
WCCI will look into finding as many billets as possible before the end of the month for those who find Airbnb prohibitive. Drop us a line at Vancouvercontact.com

Is it easy to get there on transit?

Yes, it's easy. Buses run down Hastings, the Sky train runs to stadium station which is a few blocks away SFU downtown. Click the location button on the menu for the address.

Can I take just one class?

No. You have to sign up for the whole festival. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate for individual classes or jams.

Can I get a refund? My plans have changes.

No. There are no refunds but you are welcome to try and find a friend to take your ticket. Just let us know the name of your friend you are transferring to so we can put them on the registration list.

Do you sell knee pads?

Yes we will have kneepads at the festival available at cost.

Can I bring a friend in just for a jam?

Sorry, we can’t accommodate friend drop ins. We are insured for a set number of dancers and everyone who comes need to sign a waiver and be up to speed with the protocols (both social and physical). On the first day we will be going through some of the basic housekeeping so everyone’s on the same page.

Is there Wheelchair access?

Yes. SFU has full handicap facilities as well as handicapped washrooms with lots of room. Anyone with physical disabilities is welcome. We will do our best to accommodate.

Is there a facebook event?

Yes. There is an event linked on this website, as well as a link to our WCCI facebook page and to the Vancouver Contact page. The WCCI page is the best place to connect with other travellers, find ride shares, ask questions and share resources with other dancers participating in the festival. Check in often for updates and inspiration!
